Trust is not universally a good thing. It is foolish to trust someone who has not proven to be trustworthy. Similarly, we need to be cautious about taking the risks of our vulnerability, our reputation, our time, and our money with people we don't know well. The course of wisdom dictates that we withhold trust until the character of the person is proven and warrants our confidenceā and to the degree that the person's character warrants our trust.
