The first time Pat drank he got drunk. It was the 7th grade. From that time on, he drank to get drunk. As his addiction grew stronger, Pat knew that if his behavior continued he wouldn't live to be 30, but he couldn't bring himself to stop drinking. Even after trying to stop cold turkey and having a seizure, Pat minimized the situation to hurt family members.
