In his gospel, John identifies himself as "the disciple whom Jesus loved." That doesn't mean Jesus didn't love the others who followed him, but John was so overwhelmed with Jesus' love that this label seemed completely appropriate to him.

A Starting Point |

Sometimes we think that we have to say just the right words to God or do just the right religious actions to earn God's favor. Read the account of Jesus and Peter walking on the water in Matthew 14:22-33 (click here to read online). In this passage, we see Jesus again showing his miraculous power by walking on the water.
